sipreg – SIP registration status. Status result of SIP registration made by SIP user agent in IXNX.

SIP registration is attempted automatically if username supplied in Iam is a valid SIP address. Message sipreg reports its results.

• status:
  • OK - registration succeeded
  • REJECTED - authentication failed
  • UNAVAILABLE - registration failed for other reason (eg server DNS error, no response from SIP server, timeout, etc)
  • UNREGISTER - unregistration succeeded

Depending on system settings some servers may allow you access to basic services even if SIP registration has failed. In such circumstances you will get both a welcome message and a sipreg status:REJECTED message. In some systems you will then be able to contact other users connected to the same server but not be able to make SIP calls.
