onIsTalking()

wrtc.onIsTalking() is called every time someone new starts to talk in a group call.

You can use this event to highlight who is talking, make their video window larger than the others, or on the top or similar.

You do not need to write any wrtc.onIsTalking() function in order to make group calls - only if you want to somehow indicate who is currently talking in the group call.

Arguments

wrtc.onIsTalking(callobj, name)

Multiple talkers

There is always only one "talker" in each group call. If someone cuts in, starts talking while someone else is still talking (how rude) the following happens:

Let's say client A is talking. She is considered to be the "talker" right now.

While client A is still talking client B also starts to talk. They both talk. Now client "A" is still considered to be the talking one.

If client A stops talking and becomes silent for more than one second, while client B continues to talk then now client B is considered to become the "talking one" and each client in the group call receives a wrtc.onIsTalking(callobj, "client B") event.

There is no "noone is talking" event. If everyone is silent then still the last person who was talking is considered to be the "talking" one. Only when somebody else breaks the silence and starts talking that a new wrtc.onIsTalking() event occurs.
